Michael David, Intellectual Property Attorney, Joins Whiteford, Taylor & Preston
Baltimore - Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP (WTP) is delighted to announce that Michael David has joined the firm as Counsel. He will be located in WTP's Baltimore office to assist clients as a member of the firm's growing Technology and Intellectual Property section. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences, and he is admitted to appear before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Dr. David joins the firm from Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. His practice encompasses assessing technology and intellectual property assets in the context of financing technology ventures, joint ventures, litigation, and obtaining patent rights. His business and science experiences include serving as IP and Business Development Manager for Vitality Biotechnologies (an Israeli company), as Senior Scientist in Microbial Genetics for Crop Genetics International (in Columbia, Maryland), and as Project Leader for Biolume Ltd in Haifa, Israel. He received his J.D. from the University of Maryland in 1999, and he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1984-1986. Dr. David earned his Ph.D. in Life Sciences in 1984 and his Masters of Science in Life Sciences in 1979 from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, and he graduated with his B.S. in Zoology from the University of Iowa in 1977.
