Serve as counsel on corporate, litigation and regulatory issues. Serve as outside general counsel to companies and advise individual clients. Noteworthy Experience

  • Outside general counsel (GC) to U.S. subsidiary of $13 billion publicly traded Japanese corporation (technology and digital imaging solutions) (advised regarding corporate, litigation, employment, regulatory, and related issues)
  • Outside intellectual property (IP) counsel to open source content management system with 200,000 registered members in 40 languages (advised on IP and other issues)
  • Outside GC to corporation that operated 12 shopping outlets from New Jersey to Virginia (retail) (obtained complete dismissal with prejudice of federal class action filed regarding Fair Credit Reporting Act, negotiated legal agreements, etc.)
  • Outside GC to start-up commercializing innovative medical device (and counsel to inventor's national medical specialty practice)
  • Worked closely with In House Counsel and executive leadership team of international humanitarian NGO with $500 million budget and operations in 90+ countries regarding compliance with various U.S. international obligations
  • Represented BVI holding company in navigating the Foreign Interest Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA) and secured tax refund on sale of real property in United States
  • $1 billion Section 337 IP investigation ("Augmentin")
  • $970 million NAFTA investor-state arbitration ("Methanex")
  • $300 million aircraft dispute at WTO
  • Resided one year in Vietnam as Legal Advisor to a USAID grant helping the government implement economic reforms
  • Served twice as an International Trade Expert for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) (based on a competitive selection process)
