Experience
Mr. Lee is a partner in the firm's Real Estate Section and Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy Section with over 15 years' experience representing developers, businesses, institutions and individuals in an array of real estate, finance and reorganization matters. He is also co-chair of the firm's Green Building and Sustainability Industry Group and a member of the firm's Clean Energy Technology industry group.
Real Estate and Financing Matters
- Extensive commercial experience in complex real estate transactions with a focus on commercial and residential development and land acquisitions and dispositions.
- Representation of sellers and buyers in the acquisition and sale of various improved and unimproved properties in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. corridor.
- Representation of borrowers in conventional and receivables based financings.
- Counsel to regional petroleum jobber in acquisition and operation of real estate and supply interests in over 100 service stations located in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia.
- Counsel to publicly traded national developer in negotiating and documenting various property disposition agreements, development agreements and reciprocal easement agreements as to the development of a regional power center in Howard County, Maryland.
- Representation of the State of Maryland on multiple privatized student housing developments.
- Counsel on the acquisition and development of various continuing care retirement communities. Projects funded through a mixture of taxable and tax-exempt bonds.
Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy Matters
- Representation of software developer in restructuring of $65,000,000 credit facility.
- Chapter 11 sale of 400 plus apartment unit complex in Washington, D.C.
- Restructuring and refinance of country club's primary credit facility.
- Restructuring of finances for Maryland general contractor.
- Chapter 11 based restructuring and refinance of real estate developer including disposition and finance of private water and sewer assessments.
