Experience
Mr. Morales is a registered patent attorney. Prior to receiving his law degree, he worked in the Biochemistry Department of the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins, where he assisted in the study of protein interactions and the composition of the nuclear pore complex. He also worked in the biology department of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he assisted in researching bacterial gene regulation.
- Representing technology transfer offices in the prosecution of patent applications in the areas of biotechnology, material sciences, and business methods
- Representing companies from university incubator programs in patent and trademark prosecution, licensing agreements, and advice companies on intellectual property strategies
- Drafting and prosecuting patent applications for a range of technologies including mechanical apparatus, biotechnology, computer software and internet applications
- Developing strategies for protecting intellectual property
- Assisting clients with intellectual property due diligence in M&A transactions
- Advising clients on intellectual property strategies in Latin America
