Client Alert: D.C. Paid Family Leave Act Reminder

Starting February 1, 2020, all employers must notify covered employees about their rights to paid leave under the District of Columbia Paid Family Leave Act. The official notice can be found by clicking here.

As discussed in our previous article, the D.C. Paid Family Leave Act guarantees covered employees with three types of paid leave:
 
  • 8 weeks of parental leave;
  • 4 weeks of family leave; and
  • 2 weeks of medical leave.
     
Employees will be eligible for benefits under the Act beginning July 1, 2020.
