Erek Barron Elected to Two New Positions

Date: November 7, 2014

Message from WTP's Managing Partner, November 7, 2014:

Please join me in congratulating Erek Barron on two momentous accomplishments.

First, this week Erek was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates for the 24th District in Prince Georges County Maryland.  Erek will be sworn in as a delegate in the coming weeks and will start his first legislative session in Annapolis in 2015.

Second, last evening Erek was installed as the new president of the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association before a crowd of hundreds that included a good slice of the Maryland Judiciary, both the current and the incoming Maryland Attorney Generals, the County Executive for Prince Georges County,  a U.S. Senator, scores of local dignitaries and hundreds of members of the bar. For those who may not be familiar with the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, the following is a brief synopsis from the organization’s website: The J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, Inc. is committed to legal excellence, community service, and the advancement of African-American minorities in the legal profession. Our membership consists primarily of African-American attorneys who live and/or work in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties.  More information on the Association can be seen at bournebar.org.

Either one of these accomplishments standing alone would be a tremendous accolade for Erek and a great honor for the Firm. For both of them to happen in one week is simply amazing.

Please join me in congratulating Erek on these wonderful achievements.
