Harry S. Johnson Selected As One of America's Leading Lawyers by Black Enterprise Magazine

Whiteford, Taylor & Preston L.L.P is pleased to announce that Harry S. Johnson has been selected as one of America's Top Black Lawyers by Black Enterprise Magazine. The business and investment magazine geared toward African-Americans ranked 90 of the nation's top lawyers in its November 2003 issue. This was the magazine's first ever listing of leading black attorneys and was based on research with prominent attorneys, legal scholars, law schools and legal organizations. Mr. Johnson was the only Maryland attorney selected. A prominent litigator, Johnson is known for his outstanding commitment to public service in the community. In addition to a very busy litigation practice that includes product liability, insurance, real estate, professional liability and unfair trade practices Johnson has been active in bar and civic activities since his admission. He is currently President of the Maryland State Bar Association and serves on the Boards of Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Center Stage. Johnson is a partner at Whiteford, Taylor & Preston L.L.P., and works primarily in the firm's Baltimore office. A 1976 graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a 1979 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, Johnson was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1979, and to the District of Columbia Bar in 1993. He has also been admitted to the bars of the United States District Courts for Maryland and the District of Columbia. He resides with his family in Cockeysville, Maryland.
