JHPIEGO's 40th Anniversary Celebration - WTP sponsor

 For the past forty years and every day around the world, Jhpiego has worked tirelessly to help the world’s most vulnerable women in developing countries achieve their most elemental but challenging dream: safe motherhood. Jhpieog is an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University.

 In recognition of this milestone, Jhpiego is planning a series of events in Baltimore, Washington D.C. and around the world, culminating in the 40^th anniversary gala in Baltimore on June 24, 2013.  Jhpiego works with health experts, governments and community leaders and partners to develop strategies that help countries care for themselves by training health care workers, strengthening health systems and improving delivery of care.  They fight to ensure midwives are skilled in emergency obstetric care so women do not bleed to death after giving birth, that governments have the tools to build quality health systems, that women are screened for preventable diseases like cervical cancer and that the next generation of global health innovations are available to save women’s lives and ensure a brighter future for a generation of children who will thrive with the love and support of their mothers.
