John Gontrum, Noted Land Use Attorney, Joins WTP

Baltimore, Md. - Whiteford, Taylor & Preston L.L.P., is pleased to announce that John B. Gontrum has joined the firm as Counsel in the Real Estate and Land Use practice group. Mr. Gontrum brings over 24 years experience in zoning and land use law in Baltimore County. He has represented developers and land owners in a wide range of projects including, Towson Place Shopping Center and the Perry Hall Farms residential community of about 1,000 units. Scott Barhight, Chair of the Land Use Group remarked "John Gontrum is a tremendous asset to our group. He brings the extensive knowledge and experience our clients need to get projects done in Baltimore County." Mr. Gontrum joins Whiteford, Taylor & Preston from the firm of Romadka & Gontrum where he was founding partner. In addition to his extensive legal work, Mr. Gontrum is active in the community, serving as president-elect of the Baltimore County Bar Association, Vice Chairman of the Franklin Square Hospital Board, and board member of the YMCA of Central Maryland. Mr. Gontrum received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and his B.A. from Duke University. He is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland. Mr. Gontrum is a life long resident of Kingsville, Maryland.
