New 2019 Partners Elected at Whiteford Taylor & Preston

Baltimore – Whiteford, Taylor & Preston is pleased to announce that David W. Gaffey and David M. Stevens have been named Partners of the firm, effective January 1, 2019. 

David W. Gaffey focuses his practice on corporate bankruptcy and business reorganization, including pre-bankruptcy planning, loan workouts and financial restructuring, commercial and business litigation, creditors’ rights and preference defense, and bankruptcy trustee representations. He represents debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, trustees and other parties in interest in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, workouts, acquisitions and creditors’ rights litigation. Mr. Gaffey served as law clerk to the Honorable Kevin R. Huennekens in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Richmond Division, from 2011 to 2012 and is the Vice President and Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association. He is based in the firm’s Falls Church, Virginia, office.

David M. Stevens focuses his practice primarily on labor and employment matters. He advises businesses on a broad range of human resources and compliance issues, in addition to representing employers in employment-related litigation, including claims involving federal and state wage statutes, antidiscrimination laws and restrictive covenants. He has also represented employers in connection with union organizing campaigns and in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. Mr. Stevens is based in the firm’s Baltimore, Maryland, office.
