The Environmental and Construction Law Sections of the Maryland State Bar Association present:

 

RULE NUMBER 1: WATER FLOWS DOWNHILL- THE INTERPLAY AND IMPACT OF ENVIRONMENTAL LAW AND REGULATION ON CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT
The practical impacts of environmental law and regulation on construction and land development activities, including renovations, repairs and redevelopment activities. Specific topics addressed will include the 2012 Septic and Growth Bill and the impact of septic and sanitary sewer considerations on development and redevelopment activities, new developments in wetlands issues, differences between LEED and IgCC from tax incentives to enhanced branding, recent changes to sediment & erosion control and stormwater permitting requirements, and lead-based paint issues (including the EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule). The panel will discuss each of these and related issues and their practical impact on planning, bidding and contracting issues for the construction industry and their clients.
