Steve Tiller Leads Distinguished Panel on Public-Private Cyber Security

Date: February 16, 2018

On February 8, in his role as President of the Fort Meade Alliance, WTP Partner Steve Tiller led a panel that featured U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, Leidos Chairman and CEO Roger Krone and NSA Executive Director Harry Coker, Jr., on public-private cyber security efforts. The discussion focused on ways to improve America's cyber defenses.

In opening remarks, Senator Cardin stressed the need for heightened public-private collaboration to resist increasingly sophisticated cyber assaults on American democracy.  Mr. Tiller, citing a January report by Democratic staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said it “emphasizes that the U.S. and its European allies are still extremely vulnerable to cyber-attacks and it recommends a commitment to mutual defense both in Europe and the U.S. against state-sponsored cyber-attacks through rapid reaction teams, international treaties and other resources."

The Fort Meade Alliance is a nonprofit formed to support Fort Meade, its service personnel and their families, the Installation's more than 115 government agencies and organizations and the overall Fort Meade regional community.
