Whiteford Attorney Named "Roanoke 2014 Litigation -- Bankruptcy Lawyer of the Year" by Best Lawyers and Super Lawyer in Bankruptcy

Roanoke -- Whiteford, Taylor & Preston is pleased to announce that Michael E. Hastings has again been named a "Super Lawyer" in the field of Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights and was named the Litigation – Bankruptcy 'Lawyer of the Year' for 2014 by Best Lawyers.

Mr. Hastings, formerly of LeClair Ryan, joined the firm as a Partner in 2013 and supervised the opening of the firm's first office in Roanoke. He has a wide range of experience in bankruptcy, creditor-debtor rights/insolvency and reorganization law, and litigation.  He is a former Chair of the Virginia Bar Association Bankruptcy Law Section and has been listed among the “Top Fifty” lawyers in Virginia by Super Lawyers, as well as having been named the Roanoke “Lawyer of the Year” for Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights in 2010 by Best Lawyers in America.

Mr. Hastings received his BBA cum laude from Eastern New Mexico University in 1989 and his law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1993.  He is admitted to practice law in Virginia and New York.
