Whiteford Continues Richmond Expansion with Additional Hires

Continuing a rapid recent expansion, Whiteford, Taylor & Preston welcomes three new attorneys to its Richmond office.
 
  • J. William Gray.  A leading authority on charitable giving and tax-exempt organizations, Mr. Gray joins Whiteford’s Nonprofit Organizations and Associations Group as a Senior Counsel. With nearly 40 years of experience, he advises on the formation of charities, business leagues, social welfare organizations, title-holders and other exempt entities, advising them on tax reporting, disclosure and corporate governance issues.  Additionally, he advises high-net-worth clients in their charitable gift planning.  A fellow of the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel, Mr. Gray is a founding director and former president of the Virginia Gift Planning Council.  He recently served on the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners’ Board of Directors and is a frequent speaker at state and national programs on charitable giving, nonprofit formation, planned giving and compliance.  
 
  • Robert N. Drewry.  Mr. Drewry joins the firm as an Associate in the Labor & Employment Section.  He arrives from the Office of the Attorney General in the Commonwealth of Virginia, where he represented state agencies and political subdivisions in all phases of administrative proceedings and civil litigation. 
 
  • Julian Pedini.  Joining Whiteford as an Associate in the Corporate Section, Mr. Pedini focuses his practice on transactional real estate work and associated zoning and permitting, with an emphasis on representing large companies operating in the telecommunications and health care sectors.
