Whiteford Taylor Receives "Trailblazer Award" from the Equal Justice Council

Baltimore -- Whiteford Taylor & Preston was very honored to receive a Trailblazers Award from the Equal Justice Council of Maryland Legal Aid on June 18, 2013.

The Council noted that Trailblazer Awards are given to firms that have "continuously demonstrated their commitment to ensuring equal access to justice and support of Maryland Legal Aid…"

Accepting the award on behalf of the firm was Paul Nussbaum, a member of the firm's Executive Board, and who is also a current member of the Equal Justice Council.  Martin Fletcher, WTP's Managing Partner, said, "This award has deep roots for us, since one of our founders, Wilbur 'Woody' Preston, was the founding chair of the Equal Justice Council. He set a tone and commitment for the entire firm, and we are proud to continue in the critical mission of helping to serve people of need in Maryland."

Also in attendance at the event were firm partners Harry S. Johnson (former President of the Maryland State Bar Association), Albert J. Mezzanotte, Jr. (former Managing Partner of the firm), Thomas J. Whiteford, Brent C. Strickland, Stephen F. Fruin, Susan J. Roberts, and Gary S. Posner.
