Mr. Fletcher, who serves as the Managing Partner of the firm, is an experienced business advisor, representing companies from the boardroom to the courtroom. Having previously served as In-House Counsel at Maryland National Bank/NationsBank, he brings a wealth of practical experience to complex legal issues. Whiteford Opens Bethesda Office to Lure Biotech Work

Whiteford, Taylor & Preston has opened an office in Bethesda, looking to capture more legal business in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.

The 162-attorney Baltimore law firm — the city’s fourth-largest — has an active practice that includes patents and intellectual property and the representing of homeowners associations. The firm is looking to bring in legal work from the biotechnology firms springing up along the Interstate 270 corridor and the homeowners associations blanketing Montgomery and P.G. counties, said Martin T. Fletcher, the firm’s managing partner.

Whiteford, Taylor & Preston is pleased to announce that Chambers and Partners has ranked the firm's Bankruptcy Litigation practice "Band 1," the highest ranking, which again makes it the only bankruptcy practice in the state to receive this ranking. As it celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP is delighted to announce its new leadership team.

Having completed four terms as Managing Partner, Albert J. Mezzanotte, Jr. will serve one more year as the Firm's Managing Partner and transition those duties to Martin T. Fletcher.
