Ms. Schreihart counsels clients in a wide variety of intellectual property matters with an emphasis on prosecution in the software and electronic arts. Her diverse background and experience in the areas of engineering, technology and law have enabled her to successfully provide clients with strategic solutions on patent prosecution and technology matters. Lisa’s practice includes patent preparation and prosecution in computer, electrical and mechanical technologies.

Ms. Schreihart holds a B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering and uses her 20 years in engineering and work as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to help clients obtain strong patents that protect their intellectual property. During her time with the USPTO, she focused on blockchain, digital signal processing, cryptography, and other technologies such as augmented reality and artificial intelligence. Her experience as an examiner in Technology Center 3600 of the USPTO has made her especially adept at handling subject eligibility issues under 35 U.S.C. § 101, building strong rapport and working effectively with examiners for efficient, compact prosecution.

Ms. Schreihart has drafted and prosecuted patent applications in various technologies such as autonomous vehicles, Internet of Things, semiconductors, optical devices, medical devices, databases, GUIs, cryptography, blockchain, smart audio electronics, 5G telecommunications, and software for customer relationship management. Prior to her legal career, she worked for a large avionics and defense contractor as a systems engineer and project manager for complex RF communications and software-defined radio programs.

Ms. Schreihart is a member of Whiteford's LGBTQ+ & Allies Employee Resource Group.
